ok ive got an 89 fullsize bronco, problem is it kicks into neutral after a while driving down the road? i have to hit the 4x4 button a few times and it kicks back in ...my front driveshaft is out if that makes any difference? im thinking neutral safety switch or tcase motor?

neutral safety switch keeps you from starting the motor in gear, its got to be not going fully in gear at the transfer case

It's got to be the tcase not engaging properly.

I wonder if i replace the tcase motor if it would behave?

Ditch the pushbutton and put a regular manual shift transfer case in it they're much more reliable

I looked up the specs on yours both the electric and manual transfer cases are borg warner 1356 in the bronco and the f150, so either one would be a bolt in swap just remember to get the shifter and all linkage, I know a few mud racers around here my brother runs with them I can see if they have any they pulled out of their mud trucks when they upgraded, or you can go ahead and upgrade to a better tcase maybe just have to see what all will mate up to your trans
