It will be HOT, HOT, HOT, so its the perfect time for an extended run on the beach! We'll coordinate a caravan for whoever wants to travel together Friday (7/25) around 5:00pm. Beach run begins at 9:00am Saturday morning - 60 miles each way! We can then head back home Sunday morning.

Folks, it looks like the expected turnout for this event has been extremely low (basically I think I was the only confirmed person?) - and the driving conditions through PINS are very bad. With that, I'm adjusting my own personal plans. I learned of a group from TacomaWorld doing SOUTH Padre Island - hitting the beach in Port Isabel. I've grabbed a hotel in Brownsville for Friday evening and plan to meet with others at the Walmart in Port Isabel by 10:30am. I know the group will be camping and fishing for the weekend, and some wheeling all the way UP to the break. If anyone is (still) possibly interested PM me.

It was a GREAT trip. We got into Brownsville late Friday. Saturday AM I got up early to do a solo run down to Boca Chica - the point where the Rio Grande dumps into the Gulf of Mexico. After catching the sunrise, I headed up to Port Isabelle to join the main group. All total, there were about 23 rigs. We set up camp a few miles down the shore, then - after a while - a few of us made the full run up the island to the jetties.
