I learned a valuable lesson on Friday......don't buy the house brand bearings at Oreillys. This one failed with about 1000 miles on it. Yeah, my truck probably puts more stress on the bearings than a normal truck, but still. Spend the money to get a good bearing!!

Damage report - bearing (obviously), Warn hub, caliper, caliper bracket - ~$800
Pucker factor when your bearing fails at 70mph.......PRICELESS!!

I was going 70 when it first happened. But it hadn't completely failed yet, the bearing was just making a really bad grinding noise as it was chewing itself to pieces. I was able to get off the toll road and onto the feader street. I was trying to make it to a gas station on the corner when the bearing completely let go, so I was only going about 5mph when it completely crapped out. When I got it to my shop and took the tire off, I grabbed the whole hub/rotor assembly and just pulled it off. There was nothing left holding it in place. So yeah, I'm very lucky it wasn't worse than it was. That would have been a really REALLY bad day for me, and anyone around me on the road.

That really sucks, Mike. Glad you're OK and didn't do any more damage than that.

Mine didn't last too long either after I installed em. I'm not sure what caused it but it may have been builder error. 14b drum brakes with 35" tires. It only went about 4 miles down the road.

learned my lesson with an 06 avalanche, 35x12.50x18. I was only going like thirty, but the driver froybt tire flew off and cut across three lanes of traffic, bounced of a gaurd rail and then back across the highway. Always buy the Timkin bearings.

Yeah, LUCKILY....my wheel didn't come all the way off. I can't imagine (and don't really want to) what would have happened if it did. Think of the damage a 49" tall tire would have caused if it hit another car doing 70mph. Pretty scary actually! Timkin bearings are now installed.
