Nice start... keep us updated!

Yeah! Looks good so far!
Thanks, plan is to build it for less than 600, the cheapest I've found a used one for is 1200, and a new one would cost about 2500,
Now I can get something done, picked up this lil dumpling Friday, I chose the 140 cause I can take it with me and run it off my generator

thats a nice little welder..... also looks like a fun project you got yourself :rev
Hasn't been that bad so far I'm modeling it off my brother's trailer,It's the one on the second post, the one I had at purple santa, the worst part is today I realized that I'm SERIOUSLY OUT OF PRACTICE WELDING, lol been awhile since I've welded
you went over budget... lol that welders nice... but the 140 plus the angle iron has put you at your budget mark or at least REALLY close... but I know I know materials and tools are considered part of the budget! thats what I have to tell my wife!
They let me work an extra day at work , got 5 extra loads so that's what paid for the welder, yep it put me over but the angle was only $120, I justified the purchase of the welder for all my other projects too, my 86 bronco II, the 85 bronco II I'm building for my daughters, and my 99 f150 mudbog race truck, plus it was on sale!!
I used that same welder to build my front bumper... its held up fairly well considering I slammed into a 18 wheeler with it... stupid CHEROKEE brakes!!!
This talk about slamming into 18 wheelers is making me nervous, wait a minute I have 2 back bumpers, I'm good lol jk , the mig is great It's the operator that needs some practice
Honestly I forgot I was loaded with a trailer full of scrap aluminum ... kinda pushed me into it... literally my front wheels locked... impact was at about 10 MPH
I slid my other bronco 2 through a red light but had a 20 ft lowboy loaded to the gills

coming together nicely... I need to take notes cause mines falling apart
I'm learning as I go took me all day to decide how I was gonna build my fenders, my bronco 2 with 33's is about 2"skinnier than my wife's yj with 31's so I had to make it where I could fit in between the fenders now and drive over them when I put on my full width axles on , a lot of trial and error lol
i have to drive over the fenders on mine... when I went out two weeks ago I had to winch my jeep with no steering back onto the trailer which damaged the fenders... so NOW I get to build new fenders
Always fun when stuff breaks , I'm thinking bout going with hydrosteer when I set up my new axles, could use some pointers when I'm ready
ME TOO LOL... im getting items together and have since I broke my setup, looks like another week or so before I'll have all te parts I need!
any progress on the trailer... Im anxiously waiting to see the progress
Not yet been down for the count for 2 weeks now went to Dr today said I have bronchitis and pneumonia, and something else I forget on 5 different meds right now but as soon as I get this whooped gonna sand it down and paint it then wire it up
Did build back bumper 3 weeks ago

Looks good brotha!! Big big improvement from what you started with!
Thanks I got the frame free I think I'm gonna pass my budget by 200, but still don't think $800 for a trailer isn't too bad , half as much as a good used one, I'm all about the budget builds lol
how about brakes?
It's got brakes I'm going to wire them up just not hook them up my truck doesn't have a controller yet , but to be honest I don't think I really need them cause at most the trailer will weigh 5500 lbs and my truck will slam you in the dash with more than that the biggest decision I have right now is a 6 or 7 wire hookup cause I want reverse lights
Then go 7. Why not!
That's what I'm leaning towards cause I want a 5thwheel hookup eventually so I can pull anything, bumper pull messes me up after driving a rig all day lol
Lol! Mine is a bumper pull, but sometimes it just doesn't seem like it wants to turn for crap. If I had a bigger truck I would probably go for a gooseneck trailer as well.
for my next trailer I want at least a 32ft gooseneck my truck is rated to pull 12,000lbs so I should be fine, what kinda tow rig do you have I know a few people that have goosenecks in half tons and they do fine, granted they wont break any speed records but they will pull it
I only have a 4wd 4Dr long bed Tacoma.
The 7 way gives you more flex for additions (i.e. a 12v charging wire for a battery on a winch) Also the 6 way plugs are getting harder to find.
Good point Clint thanks
One of these days I want to put a winch and battery on mine.
that would be nice, and the trailer already has a place built into the tongue for batteries:rockin
Lucky devil
I saw on Gearz where he mounted a toolbox on the front of a car hauler then mounted a winch inside the toolbox was pretty cool
That actually is a pretty darn good idea. I might have to look into that since I have the room on my trailer, and a tool box would give me more room to keep spare tools and stuff.
