Paracord Grab Handles - $30/pair

I do have removable headrests, and I want a pair for those seats. But for the roll bar handles, they will be going on the roof rack of our Xterra, which the bar itself is 2 1/4" plus a 1" square tube that rests on top of the bar.

Hmm.. Think you can shoot me a pic of it? And possibly a measurement around the outside where the handle would wrap around? I think the JK length handle should wrap around it, but want to be sure.

This picture I just took of a JK handle on 2 1/4" bare tube with a piece of trim board I had in the garage. Looks too be plenty long enough, maybe too long.

The problems I have had with the other handles that you can buy is that over time, especially if they are exposed to direct sunlight often, the nylon (or whatever material it is) straps start to dry rot, and the plastic buckles that they use get brittle. I have had several of them break from either a passenger, or myself, pulling up into the Jeep.. I almost busted my butt because the plastic buckle decided to snap on me. Also, the ones that have the foam padding on the handle, the foam eventually dry rots and crumbles in your hand, leaving a much less comfortable handle to hang on to.

From what I have heard/read about paracord, it will withstand the abuse and the weather. I know for a fact that my handle will hold all of my weight on it, I have hung from it just to test it out. I wrap 3 strands through the middle, at 550 lb rating on each strand, that makes 1650 lb rating on the handle itself and the shackles have like a 1200 lb rating. So none of your passengers should have any issues with these breaking.

And just for the record. I'm not out to make a ton of money on these. I saw others making them, decided to make my own, and several of my friends wanted them, so I made some for them. It's kinda like a hobby I guess, I figured I'd pass it on to my extended wheeling friends/family.

Upon evaluation, I have found that I CAN indeed make the handle out of ONE solid piece of cord if it is requested. The only minor issue is that on one end, there are 4 strands of cord in the shackle, which means they kinda overlap and if you pull that shackle pin out for any reason, it's just a little harder to get the pin back in.

But the way I install them, I only pull one shackle off anyway, so it really isn't that big of a deal

I'll shoot you a couple pictures here in a bit, but I agree with you that the JK handles will fit. Plus having 2-50'peices of para cord for emergencies, that I don't have to remember to pack for a trip will be awesome.
