Re: What does it take to be a Trail Guide

The B/CS officers will probably decide who in our chapter has earned the title of trail guide. This discussion began on the B/CS board and was intended for B/CS members to comment on. Other chapters can do what they want, or nothing, in terms of trail guides. It has no impact on B/CS.

I will say that Eric is by far the best teacher of off roading 101 I have ever seen, he breaks it down in such a way as a new guy doesn't feel stupid when its explained to him and I have learned alot on how to explain it to newbies by listening to him teach it.

What does it take to be a Trail Guide

It would be nice if b/CS officers would come up with the guidines-and share with the rest of us...knowing what it means to have the title. 'Trail guide', consistently - amongst the chapters- would be helpful.
If its go an be a custom user title, I believe it should be defined.

Sounds like y'all want the B/CS chapter to do all the work.

What does it take to be a Trail Guide

What I WAS trying to say is...the B/CS chapter has a semi unique opportunity.
They have the local park. They came up with the idea. It appears they want to define the criteria....im just asking them to share what they come up with.
I think a trail guide designation could be something that we could use across the organization.
I thnk it's important to have some guidelines though.

BCS will put together a program to earn the designation of Trail Guide, it won't be a walk in the park to get but once you have it people should trust you as a leader because they know what you went through to become one. If everyone likes it feel free to use it.

Thanks for the kind words Sarge!
