    Dana 30 upgrade

I'll be upgrading from 33 to 35s on the lj next week along with tube front fenders.
My big question is will my stock Dana 30 hold up to wheeling with larger tires.
I've already made a pretty big investment in regearing and adding lockers so for now I need to make do with the 30. The more I read regarding upgrades, the more confused I get. Do I get chromoly axles, inner sleeves, outer sleeves, gussets, trusses, or do nothing at all.
I'm looking the the most bang for the buck that I can make.
    Anyone's input would be great!

biggest bang for the buck is to swap it out.Sell it to someone that needs to be where you are at on 33's now.

well whats done is done... but when you break that axle, get a set of Chromolly shafts, they are not much more than an OEM replacement and you get to keep all your same characteristics of the original setup and MUCH stronger. Ive heard that a D30 Chromo shaft is stronger than a D44 regular shaft

It's not,but it's close. But yet it's just the beginning for the D44,not to for get full float hubs not the cheesy unit bearing, selectable lock outs, bigger tubes and larger splines.

Depends on how you drive it.. I'm running stock D30 front axle w/stock shafts, and haven't had any issues.. I actually have broken a rear D44 stock shaft, and bent one. Just keep the ujoints in good condition, and roll with it.. I'm running 36" Iroks w/4.88 gears.

I'm with Jason, just upgrade as you break stuff. The exception is: if you have the D30 with the flimsy passenger side upper control arm mount, I'd go ahead and truss it.
