    Stealth Camper Build

There is no builders section so I am going to post this here.

Realizing that Teardrop will be way to small for the 3 of us I have decided to take it a bit further. I got a 5x10 Enclosed trailer. Plan is to build a bunk for the little one and the wife and I will sleep on the floor. I am going to make a 3 piece foam mattress that will fold into a couch during the day for us to sit on. The Short list, Get it livable. The long list, solar, water, insulation, lights inside, kitchen galley on the back door, AC....

With this I can camp anywhere. It will just look like a Jeep parked with a cargo trailer attached to it.

This is a cool little awing you can mount anywhere. I can put it over the kitchen area or the off the side.

Started insulating the roof. I should be in the r10 or higher range on the roof.

If I get done mowing the yard tomorrow at a decent time, I will start on the wall. i have the plywood stripped already.

It will have foam for the lower bed, 6" thick and will be cut in the 3 section and in a cover that i can fold up. the bed will fold up into a little sofa for those rainy days. there will be a fold down bunk on one wall for my Daughter and 30gallon water tank with a propane run hot shower.

Finally started feeling better. Got the AC area and front cabinets welded up. I am starting the Vent install on the roof. I got a Fan-Tastic vent for the top. It moves up to 900CFM in or out so it should keep it nice and cool. Also looks like I am going to have 32 gallons of water if I can make the containers fit.

Holes drilled in the top as a thunder is playing in the back ground:

    Bigger Hole in the top.

She is in and right siliconed up. Now it is raining so I can test it.

sure would like to know how much it weights when you get it fully loaded. You got me thinking about building one. I got to have a toilet in mine though.

Did you do a axle swap? Doesnt look like you got any suspension on the trailer, also I take it the trailer tires and rims are identical to the ones on the Jeep?

It is Four inch drop axle with leafs. I may add a 20* torsion axle but doubt I will need it. I want to keep it as low as possible. It has good ground clearance and good enough for what I going to do. The wheel are 5 on 5 like the Jeep and tires match so only one spare. Loaded it should be under 2000lbs It will get a portacan in it. Probably with a magazine rack and stirrups. Just in case the long drives require a little extra leverage.

    Looks good Dan!

If anyone is interested in something similar, I work with a guy that has a 6x10 enclosed trailer for sale.. would be a great platform.. wish I would have known about it before we bought the popup! LOL
