15 miles west of sealy the plug on the tcase somehow worked it's way out and the tcase dumped it' fluid. I was moving at about 75 mph with the windows down and caught a faint small of burnt oil and then within about 15 seconds the jeep looked like it was on fire. We got over quick enough. I swapped the top plug to the bottom and pured the last half of a quart of ATF4 in it and drove on to Sealy, very slow. I had hoped to find the other plug in the skid but it was not there. Of course Walmart was the only think open at 8pm on Sunday. Found a Maintenance guy and he found a short bolt in bucket and I thought it may work but when it I crawled under the Jeep, it would not fit. just the wrong thread size, so I thought, I will just JB weld it and hammer it in. As I was scooting out from the jeep I put my hand on the frame rail to pull me out and the plug fell out of the skid plate. Filled up the tcase and drove it home. We got home at 10 PM. It was long weekend.
Thanks to all that came out to support it. TX4WD had a great chowing at this event. Keep it up.
