Now I'm currently starting to build stuff for the Jeep... I built a front bumper and mounted a winch on it... installed Alloy shafts in the rear... and will soon start adding to my Roll cage.. Here's what I got so far... I think I'll just continue to add pics to this album as I work... http://s78.photobucket.com/albums/j8...ld%20Progress/

Tore down the rear end this weekend to finally install my passenger side alloy shaft... I only replaced the drivers side cuz that's the one that was messed up and I need to get it inspected... Anyway, I busted the cover off and I still have metal flakes from when I broke the shaft... is this normal? how long will it take to flush them all out? or is it coming from something else? i pulled the carrier and both shafts, inspected everything really good, and nothing looks like it's grinding or anything.. I sprayed the tubes out with brake cleaner and pushed some rags through to get them clean... sprayed the carrier bearings with cleaner and blew them out really good with air... noticed when I installed the driver shaft the outer seal got cut somehow.. so I had to put some RTV on it, hopefully it will seal.. it was leaking out into my drums...

Also, I do not like the design of the flange bolts on the new axles... they screw in from the back side, instead of pressing in... so you have to locktite them in really good, or when you go to put on the lug nuts they loosen up...

here are a few pics from this weekend...

Ok after having Chris' old Rubicon rocker guards sitting in my garage for several years, I finally installed them! If anyone wants details on the install I can do a write up on it... Pretty simple... Even easier if your TJ is 03 or newer because they already have half of the holes that you need to install...

got the passenger side rockers guard installed yesterday...

Well, I bit the bullet today and ordered a Poison Spyder A-pillar mount for the cage.. didn't feel like cuttin up the dash.. plus save tubing..

nothing to do today at work, so I'm cutting some of the straight pieces...

a 1.75" hoggan cutter in the mill worked great for notching.. haven't welded it in place yet.. but it's a nice snug fit...

Moved the bar back a little bit... I think this should be far enough to clear the latches... Not welding till I make sure though...

OK got under the rear of the Jeep Friday afternoon to change out the upper control arms that were in bad shape.. here's what they look like.. I also changed the lower control arm bushings while I was under there.. had some new ones sitting in my garage and these definitely needed it.. My Jeep rides a lot better now.. Just need to get the body mount issues fixed while I'm working on the cage...
