    TJ Clock spring?

Has anyone here changed out a clock spring in a TJ... or any other vehicle for that matter??

I think mine might be bad... I'm going to try to test everything I can before diggin into that, but my symptoms point to it...

my airbag light has been on for a couple years now, and I've replaced fuses and all that already..

When we were in Gilmer, my horn stopped working.. I was trying to honk when we passed yalls camp site, and it didn't work until I turned my steering wheel, and it worked once, then quit again, and hasn't worked again since...

I haven't checked the cruise control yet, but I will test it on my way home from work...

Is this something that I can do easily? I don't want an airbag to explode in my face... that's my main concern.. I'm sure the rest of it is a cake walk.. Also, if I do this, should I even put the air bag back? or leave it out? Are there any laws that require it?

Just getting a plan of action before I dig into this.. I have until July before inspection is due... LOL

I have replaced the clock spring in infiniti's pretty straight forward affair. Do not use any power tools and disconnect the battery and you will be just fine. It's fairly simple.

Well the cruise control is still working... So is it possible that it's only dirty or maybe a loose connection?

not that I've noticed.. my jeep makes so much noise, I haven't heard anything, but I haven't tried to listen to the steering column yet..
