Question I think my 304 bit the dust:( - Thinking about a 350 swap...

Also have a DUI on it and burnt up the module.

I am thinking it may be an opportunity to do a 350 swap. Anyone have one done recently (especially in the Houston area)?

What did it cost to have it done once it was all said and done? Who did it for you? (I'm sure I will catch some * about wanting someone to do the work for me, but is an option to get it on the road again, been fighting with it since January)

    Thanks in advance!

What makes you think you blew the engine?

Working on it some more I do not think it is blown.

However, considering the below I think it is time to get it rebuilt or swap.

    1. near zero oil pressure after running a few minutes (ordered new timing chain cover, etc)
    2. running temp is 210ish
    3. ate a push rod last December
    4. uneven wear on the new distributor gear (ordered a new set of gears)

I did replace the ignition module but came across an exposed wire that connects to the module. Davis is sending me a new harness, those guys have been good on warranty.

What input can I get on Houston area engine rebuilders?

I used Joey's about 8 years ago on a CJ that I had. I didn't have any issues, but only had about 700 miles on the engine when that Jeep got ripped off in Mexico

Called Precision and they seemed pretty high. Also won't let you bring new parts to the build.

Thunderbolt used to see commercials for them.

All seem to carry similar warranty - 1 year or 3 years if they install.
