Adam, those little china bikes are a blast to play around with. Word from the wise, 1 is never enough, and do your PMCS before every time you ride it. They'll vibrate so much the damn nuts and bolts will back out whenever they want. I may have some extra parts lying around from my last 3 pocketbikes I had ... unless I gave it away already.

Sarge, you mean the air vents for the a/c? That's a lot of cutting and drilling just to get it to come out of the body. I mulled it over for a while and I think I'm gonna route it inside thru the core like the valvetrain vent for security. I'd hate to come out to the parking lot on a rainy day to find out my $50 filter had been stolen.

No the cowl is the section of sheetmetal that your wiper blade arms come out of. Thats some funnt video there, jason!

I installed a Garvin wilderness roofrack. This was suppose to be a 3 hr install...man were they way off! When installing this rack you have to be very precise with the holes you drill. If you are off with your holes, you more or less ruin the entire install. Everything comes in unassembled and this is what took the most time. Prep for the install:

Once unpacked, I assembled the rack top with the floor posts and the license plate bracket to the driver side rear support arm:

I started the install by removing the brake light assemblies, and license plate bracket:

Then the fun part of masking of and marking my drill holes followed:
NOTE: I can't stress enough that these holes have to be precise. Everything ties into the rear body seam for strengthened support. If your marks are off you will have brackets that will not fit.
I also repaired the majority of the dent left from Hidden Falls since I was there

Holes drilled, you can install the rear supports, then the front supports:

With all supports installed, install the rack and floor posts. If you don't have help to lift it into place you can assemble just the rack and leave the floor posts for the last step. This cuts weight. But, I have kids so they were put to work!

One of the features of this rack that I will enjoy is the tilt. It allows me to drop the soft top with out removing anything. Garvin recommends 2 adults for this but I found it very easy by myself. Once its lifted back it balances out allowing you to install the tilt brackets.

I will be purchasing the wind deflector as it gets noisy at 55 mph or greater. Also, I will be mounting my hi-lift to the side as well as the ax and shovel. Big thank you goes to my co-worker who just traded his '09 for a Subaru and giving me this rack for free NIB. Thanks SSgt Parker! I'll post more as I drive with it on. Laterz

I am always worried about how much weight you can have when off-road I think I remember seeing like 150lb limit for off- road use. I could really use one, by the time you throw a couple of coolers, camping equipment and some fire wood you are over the limit. We'll keep us posted on what you like and dis like about it.
