I hope they find the guy that did this.. My wife, my son, and I met up with some friends of ours yesterday at Roseland Park in Baytown, shortly followed by Baytown PD, FD and EMS. We gave the crew a ride to the scene of the accident and helped them search for a while. During the launching of my friends boat, we are pretty certain that we saw the suspect that caused the accident and fled. The guy loaded his boat quickly and took off without strapping it down or even raising the motor. He drug the outboard across the parking lot and down the road. We had. I clue what had happened and thought he was just an idiot, then a few minutes later the emergency crews arrived. Small aluminum flat bottomed Jon boat got ran completely over and 2 people ejected.. 1 was recovered, the other still missing...
The guy was driving a white 4 door f250 4x4, maybe early 2000 model, with about 6-8" lift and 35-37" tires.. Boat was about 20 ft center console single outboard, white. He actually cut off one boat when he pulled into the dock, and ran into a guy working on his jet ski with his trailer..
We've been through some extensive questioning and stuff since yesterday.. Hope they catch the guy...
