Cert Training Class Fall 2012 - 8 Weeks -Free training and equipment
Community Emergency Response Team Training - sponsored by Dept of Homeland Security and FEMA
This class helps you prepare yourself and Teach you the basic skills to take care of your family and community during and after an emergency/disaster before responders are able to respond and assist. This could be due to
geographic isolation or limits on ems resources.
Location: 22125 Kingsland Dr., Katy, TX 77450
Start date: 8/7/12
End Date: 9/25/12
Night: Tuesdays
Duration: 7:00pm to 10:00pm
Cost: Free includes a manual and a backpack with CERT equipment
Materials required: Pen, maybe a notepad
Walkins: welcome but we need enough advance signups to secure the class
This is not first aid/CPR. CPR class doesn't teach you how to sort victims by severity, put out fires, search for victims, talk to victims and loved ones, mobilize injured people, rescue trapped people.....TAKE THIS CLASS

Week 2 - Small Fire Supression (yes we use fire extinguishers)
Week 3 - Medical Operations - Treatment Strategies
Week 4 - Medical Operations - Triage
Week 5 - Light Search and Rescue
Week 6 - Team Organization and Disaster Psychology
Week 7 - Terrorism Awareness (FBI)
Week 8 - Disaster Simulation Drill
