Tomball CERT - Every Tuesday for 8 Weeks Starting Sept 25, 2012 at 630PM (@Tomball Public Works Training Center)
Moving to the TOMBALL PUBLIC WORKS TRAINING CENTER
Tomball CERT Training. Starts Sept 25th - runs for 8 weeks, every Tuesday evening from 6:30pm to 9:30 pm AT THE LATEST. (at the Tomball Firestation)Some days you will get out earlier. The class is only 8 weeks but if you come back on the 9th week you get CPR certified. This is free training and open to anyone that wants to attend, but you have to sign up! The location will be set a week before the 1st class because the size of the class depends on location.
Details:
Community Emergency Response Team Training - sponsored by Dept of Homeland Security and FEMA. This class helps you prepare yourself and Teach you the basic skills to take care of your family and community during and after an emergency/disaster before responders are able to respond and assist. This could be due to geographic isolation or limits on ems resources.
Week 1 - Disaster Preparedness
Week 2 - Small Fire Suppression (yes we use fire extinguishers)
Week 3 - Medical Operations - Treatment Strategies
Week 4 - Medical Operations - Triage
Week 5 - Light Search and Rescue
Week 6 - Team Organization and Disaster Psychology
Week 7 - Terrorism Awareness (FBI)
Week 8 - Disaster Simulation Drill
Week 9 - OPTIONAL CPR Certification

If you miss a class, some classes can be made up by attending the next scheduled class in the series, attending another location's CERT class, or taking that week again with the next class to go through the training.
