Ant time you replace brake pads you need to perform several hard stops from about 40 down to a stop, this burnishes the pads or breaks them in and keeps them from squeling.
I always bevel the ends of mine if they aren't already seems to help some

Yeah that is absolutely a great idea. I do that and then I will take a wire brush on my drill and rough them up also, less likely to have squeeling and easier to break in.
