Off-Roading Tips
Suggested necessities for off-roading - CB radio, tow straps, tow hooks/points front & rear, spare tire, fire extinguisher, first aid kit, high lift jack, flash light/q-beam/batteries, fresh water
Do not off-road alone. This is important not only because you may get stuck, but for your safety. Remember the old saying, "safety in numbers".
Winching - When winching, take precautions to avoid any injuries. Make sure all passengers are out of the vehicles and clear of the area. On the winch rig, put up hood to protect windshield and operator inside. We suggest that if you are in the rig, put your head down below dash level. Throw heavy object such as rubber mat, available tow straps, towels, etc., over the cable in case it breaks under tension, it will slow down the backlash momentum. Always wear protective gloves. Other supplies: snatch block, tree strap, D-ring. ALWAYS PROTECT PEOPLE FIRST.
Extra good use items include shovel, hoe, pulaski or other digging tool.
Always tread lightly, protect our environment today in order for us to enjoy tomorrow.
